Grey Strip . Urban Decay

Nowadays people fear to go back to their primitive roots , to erase from their minds the overly rigid stencils  that the modern industrialized society seeded in their minds.
The lack of simplicity and naturalness can be noticed through the rejection of vegetation and natural  unsystematized development. Our quest for the systematization of our living environment is a secondary product of our fear of everything that goes beyond our control. 
Modern doctrines in Economy tend to measure the development through the degree of productivity from all the economical sectors , high levels of economic stability are translated in to urban development , in some cases , did in a balanced manner , in others , it was the subject of chaos and distortion .
 The city dwellers live in the after glow of the age of urban rebirth , having as representative images massive urbanization , rural assimilation , agricultural mechanization and formation of the working class. Imposing tower buildings crippled by uninspired rehabilitation works , quarters disintegrated in urban decay and rusty  iron framed markets .
At the balcony of one of the towers , a girl looks down on the colorless layout of the quarter , she sees the rush of the intersection alternated with the solemnity of the cemetery nearby . 
A alternation of color and noncolor ,  plays peacefully before her eyes , managing to coalesce in to a representative picture of postindustrialism . 
Rows and rows of boxy buildings rise before her eyes , giving the illusion of a almost perfect geometric repetition . 
Spaces with no particular function , squeezed between building , factories , road and prayer house ...break the sultry symmetry  .
 The greyish tints of the concrete walls  force upon us the feeling of sterility and dryness , the cracked walls give more dimension to the flatness of the urban landscape. 
Some shapes try to reinterpret traditional models , styles and textures but with addition of a easy to tolerate 70's kitsch.
Aesthetic traditionalism is just a other volume with no interior matter , being hard to integrate even toned down traditional architectural elements in to the flatness of constructions . 
As dawn assimilates the Grey Strip , redness stains the volumes of the buildings , creating delicate patterns , textures and shapes. If we strip this design of all its artificial elements would it still fit the image of conventional beauty? Do mask are intended to hide our uglyness or to hide or true self , or do they make us fit more easily to to social stencils ? That's something that we must think about ...
